One of the region’s most innovative events, the Golden Plains Arts Trail, celebrates its tenth year in 2018.
The Trail is an exciting collaboration between artists, Council, community and local businesses. The event sees artists and makers from across Golden Plains open their homes and hearts to visitors from near and far.
The Arts Trail is a special opportunity for visitors to see artists in their own studio as well as watch them at work. There’s often a chance to join in with the artist and get an insight how they go about their craft. You might also pick up an original piece of artwork to finish off that special space in your home.
Recent Arts Trails have seen up to 70 artists exhibiting from studios and shared spaces across Golden Plains Shire. With an audience of more than 2,000 visitors, it’s not only a boost for tourism in the Shire, it’s a great way for local artists to show visitors what’s available in Golden Plains.
The Arts Trail is many things to many people. It provides an opportunity for artists to showcase their works and for residents and visitors to come as see these works, but it’s also a great driver of community spirit. With such a diverse range of artists producing an even wider range of creations, the Arts Trail can bring communities together.
